About the Club

Dunoon Folk Club is a monthly celebration of folk music in all its forms, held every second Sunday at Uig Hall in Benmore, on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula. Founded and run by musicians, we exist to create a space where artists are respected, audiences are welcomed, and the music is always the point.

Each show features up to three acts – a carefully curated mix of Scottish traditional, Irish folk, Americana, bluegrass, and storytelling. We draw on a rich pool of local Cowal talent alongside visiting performers from across the UK and beyond. The result is an evening that’s intimate, unhurried, and genuinely special.

We’re passionate about keeping folk music accessible. Alongside our standard ticket price, we operate a community ticket scheme with pay-what-you-can pricing – because we believe a good night out shouldn’t depend on your budget. Under 12s are always free.

What We Stand For

🎵

Art First

Every decision starts with the art. We curate music, storytelling and poetry with care — choosing performers who bring something genuine to the stage.

🤝

Fair to Artists

Artists are paid fairly for their time and talent. We cover travel, provide full PA, and make performing at Dunoon Folk Club worth the journey.

🚪

Open to Everyone

Community tickets, free entry for under 12s, and a genuinely warm welcome. Folk music belongs to everyone – we mean that.
